In a land of plenty

Living on the east side of the Cascade Mountains in Washington State, I am in the Northwest’s bread and wine baskets.  Having lived a suburban lifestyle until recently, this is a fascinating place to live.  Rain is something far bigger than the drops of water that pelt my roof – it can make a dry-land wheat farmer sing or a hay farmer cry when it comes at the ‘wrong’ time.  It can make planting or harvesting a challenge.

As I blog I hope to share some of the wonders I am discovering with you.  Visiting the wineries and breweries, visiting with farmers as well as my efforts in my own garden and wine making – maybe brewing some beer too – should be an interesting journey.

In good health!
