A few weeks ago I took a friend to the airport, the TriCities Airport in Pasco. We spent the first hour of her delayed departure time in the small restaurant over glasses wine. Our first choice, Fidelitas Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot, only to discover they didn’t have any Fidelitas. A week later, picking her up, we attempted to order this wine, but still none available. Imagine walking into a little wine boutique and finding all of the current offerings from Fidelitas on display – that happened today!
We chose to get the 2011 blend, M100, which has Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec and Petite Verdot. For a young wine with such bold grape varietals, it is a remarkably approachable red. Herbal and fruit aromatics greet the nose, spice and cherry notes with smooth rounded tannins entice the taste buds and we just opened the bottle. Paired with a pasta dinner, it was terrific; relaxing after dinner, it is fantastic. Good friends to share with would be the only change I would make to this experience.
The next time we are in the TriCities, particularly with time to get to Richland, I anticipate we will stop into the winery and taste the remaining wines available… maybe even bringing something home.
