Ash Hollow Fioria, a 14.6% white blend dessert wine that seems to be unavailable now is our beverage of choice tonight. We were in Walla Walla at the winery, located at the airport, in October when we picked it up; hope they choose to do another dessert wine in the future. Apparently we are celebrating life since it is the second dessert wine in a week when we typically might drink one a quarter.
Again, this is not a syrupy wine. Muscat, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Gris grapes provide a fruity sweet, but light wine. It begins white grape juice and finishes tropical fruit, especially pineapple. A friend of mine that doesn’t usually like dessert wines really likes this wine, but alas, we didn’t wait to share it with her this time.
