Really, only day three?

I am home for a little while now, books out and open, mulling over another fairly average day at college while the current storm pounds on my windows and flips the petals from the few remaining roses in my yard.  Nice to be watching from the inside rather than outside while rushing to remove stems or press grapes.

Lots of grapes chillin' in the cellar for tomorrow.

This little lady strongly resembled a stem until she moved.

College Cellars received two bins of Barbera yesterday afternoon and two more of Syrah this morning.  We are slated to pick the Viognier first thing in the morning and then process all three grapes throughout the day – between classes.

More barrels arrived as well, but I doubt I will spend time painting them this time around; good to spread the work amongst all thirty of us. A few more photos of the day for you as I get back to my studies:

More barrels, they were moved under cover to be painted with the mildewcide due to the weather.

These are the Syrah grapes from Cockburn Ranch that will be used for our not-for credit red wine!
